More about my sabbitical week

So, on the first day of sabbitical week, we had some ice breaker game where we were split into groups which consist of at least 1 sec4 and sec3. Surprisingly, in my sabbitical, the vice-president of the high school council, Nicholas Chuan, was in it. And coincidentally, he was in my group!!! Awed at the presence of the VICE-PRESIDENT of the high school council, I tried my best to be on my BEST behaviour. After the games, we then were brief on the schedule for the rest of the days. Which consists going to places such as Singapore Philatelic Museum, Boat Quay, Asian Civilisation museum, etc. Well, that was pretty much the summary of the first day of my sabbitical!

My First Poem!

Here is my poem:

Primary School

The place where friends were everything

The place where I spent most of my life in

The place where recess was most important

The place where I could be myself

My first was spent trying to make friends

My last was spent trying to leave friends

My primary school life ended just like that

Always wondered why could'nt it been longer

It started out just as a milestone of my life

Yet it ended like it was the end of the world

Life is full of ups and downs

The trick is to enjoy the ups

And endure the downs

My life in primary school has taught me alot

But the one thing a never forgot is

You only treasure something

After you have lost it

Thanks for reading,

Wei Jin

Home Learning Class 2 LA

Hey all, so I am suppose to share with you all a analysis of a poem. Here is my analysis of this poem:
The Son is in Secondary School by Affian Sa’at

My badge has a Latin motto
Hope for the future
The future is hope
Or something

At times black crows try to interrupt
When we sing the National Anthem

It is difficult to maintain
The whiteness of my shoes
Especially on Wednesdays

I must admit there is something quite special
About the bare thighs of hardworking scouts

The Malay chauffeurs
Who wait for my schoolmates
Sit on the car park kerb
Telling jokes to one another

Seven to the power of five is unreasonable

On Chinese New Year
Mrs Lee dressed up
In a sarong kebaya
And sang Bengawan Solo

The capital of Singapore is Singapore

My best friend did a heroic thing once
Shaded all A’s
For his Chinese Language
Multiple-choice paper

In our annual yearbook
There is a photograph of me

Pushing a wheelchair and smiling
They caught me
At the exact moment

When my eyes were actually closed

The first few lines of the poem describes the writer's new school and motto and that he was proud of his new school. The next few lines tells us that during the national anthem, the writer oftenly looks at his shoes and not sing the naational anthem.
Then the writer goes on and tells us that he is a scout.Next , he talks about the well-to-do students in his school who have chauffeurs.Lastly, he says that :The capital of Singapore is Singapore. He feels that Singapore is a very small country as it is so small that it is its own city.
